Greetings!
I'm a millennial, neurodivergent, tomboy powered by time blindness, life-saving meds, and the constant noise of a podcast. I love to collect magazines, posters, and postcards from around the world. I play trumpet and euphonium but listen to metal, hip-hop, and techno.
I grew up with a very eccentric, artistic parent who modeled painting and playing music as ways to avoid life's problems and to pass the time during miserable winters. While living abroad in my 20’s, I often felt restless and trapped in my own head. The state of my mental health was not consistent. Old habits die hard; I made collages not just to decorate my space but to cope with my inner saboteur, pessimism, and cabin-fever. In 2026, after working in / adjacent to the arts for over a decade, I decided to stop working for artists and work as an artist.
My work and curations are informed by growing up as a scene kid on the internet, dark humor, the chaos of globalization, and specific cultural moments that are unhinged. Nostalgic but a little cursed. Humorous but maybe for the wrong reasons. Political and for a reason. Sprinkle in a pinch of sex positivity and voilà! You have me as Dusk Ball Studio. Wtf is a Dusk Ball?
As the name implies, my work also includes Pokémon because, yes, I am a degenerate who plays, collects, and watches Pokémon as a coping mechanism for the general doom and gloom of existing in the 21st century. My OG top 3 are Jigglypuff, Vaporeon, and Espeon. Crystal and Sword/Shield are my favorite games. Misty, Marnie, & Iono are my girls. I collect psychic, water, and dark types. Give me your bulk holos I use them for collaging often!
Curating clothes is another creative outlet of mine. The way you dress is a statement, a rebellion, a middle finger to the mundane. I love to hunt for thrifted and vintage pieces because self-expression through fashion shouldn't cost the earth. In 2024, my Depop was the original test space for me to be a creative freak on a public platform. Through Dusk Ball Studio, I curate grunge, Y2K, and vintage items for hottie freaks with curves, rolls, and everything in between. All bodies deserve the best fits and, speaking from personal experience, having to wear $h!t that doesn't align with your personal style sucks.
When I'm not cosplaying as a working stiff, I'm digging through my massive digital screenshot and magazine collections to translate my intrusive thoughts and hyper-fixations into art and wearable statements.
My modus operandi is: Let your freak flag fly. Fun fact: I have a freak flag tattooed with one of my besties from college.
